From terminal prompts to agentic workflows
Sefia is now a fuller AI workspace for the terminal: chat with local Ollama models, connect to cloud-backed providers, use a coding assistant and a terminal assistant that actually get things done. No accounts, no lock-in โ install the .deb or run it from source. Still actively evolving.
Six modes, one entry point.
Run python3 main.py and pick a number โ Sefia now stays in that loop until you exit. Everything talks to Ollama under the hood, with optional cloud/API provider support.
Cloud chat
Talk to Ollama's hosted models (or cloud credentials if set) straight from your terminal, with the conversation appended to a local history.txt so context survives between sessions.
Local chat
Run a model entirely on your own machine โ lists everything you've pulled and defaults to Sefia's own fine-tune, camdencarr84/sefia-ai:1b โ with nothing leaving your device.
Guarded shell assistant
Pick any model you've pulled, describe a task in plain English, and Sefia drafts a shell command and runs it past a safety check โ pattern-matching for destructive operations, then a second model verdict โ before anything executes.
Host your own server
Bind Ollama to 0.0.0.0:11434 in one command and point any client โ Chatbox, your phone, another machine on your network โ at your own GPU.
AI podcast generator
Paste an article and Sefia scripts a two-host conversation, voices it with edge-tts, and stitches the segments into a single downloadable .wav file.
Token analyzer
Paste in any block of text โ a chat log, an article, a prompt you're about to send โ and get a quick estimate of how many tokens it costs, right from the menu.
Free & open source
MIT licensed, named after the city of Sefia ("rules are made for fools") from The Tales of the Broken Realm. Built and maintained in the open โ PRs welcome. Still under active development.
Sefia-Code is here.
The second generation of the Sefia family: a coding agent that lives in your terminal. Describe a task, it writes the file, names it, picks the right extension, and appends a README explaining what it did. Free for everyone, commercial rights included. In this alpha, AI is only used for the coding itself and light debugging โ nothing else.
Debian / Ubuntu
Sefia-Code ships as its own .deb, separate from the main Sefia package โ install it and sefia-code is on your PATH in any terminal.
macOS
No package yet โ follow the build-from-source steps on GitHub until a native installer lands.
/init and /quit
Run /init once to write a SEFIA.md with instructions the agent should follow on every task; /quit exits and saves everything.
